Detailed Itinerary

Start Time: 10:30 AM – Hotel Kachi, Uyuni

Welcome to the incredible Salar de Uyuni! We meet at Hotel Kachi at 10:30 AM for a brief introduction before heading to our first stop.

Train Cemetery

We drive to the outskirts of Uyuni to explore the abandoned locomotives that once powered Bolivia’s rail industry—an evocative setting to learn and photograph.

Colchani Town – Artisan Market

Just 15 minutes from Uyuni, we visit Colchani to browse its artisan market and salt-based handicrafts—an ideal place to pick up a unique memento.

Dakar Monument

Entering the salt flats, we pause at the Dakar Monument, a tribute to the famous rally—an excellent photo opportunity before we venture deeper into the white expanse.

Flag Plaza & Hotel Playa Blanca (Museum)

We continue to the Flag Plaza for sweeping views of the salar. In the same area sits Hotel Playa Blanca, regarded as the first salt hotel and now operating as a museum—a great stop to learn more about the region.

Picnic Lunch on the Salar (~1:00 PM)

We pause to enjoy a picnic lunch right on the salt flats, surrounded by the vast, high-contrast landscape.

Incahuasi Island (seasonal & subject to availability)

After lunch, we head to Incahuasi Island, famed for its rocky formations and giant cacti. Note: access depends on the rainy season; when water levels rise, entry may be restricted.

Photo Session on the Salar

We dedicate time to a photo session in this one-of-a-kind setting. Your driver–guide, trained in basic techniques, will help you capture memorable shots.

Sunset Toast with Snacks

Toward day’s end, we position ourselves at a strategic viewpoint for a sunset toast with snacks—the perfect close to your day on the salt flats.

Once the sun sets, we return to town. The tour typically ends between 7:30 PM and 8:30 PM, depending on the season and exact sunset time.
