Departing from your Uyuni hotel around 8:30 PM (precisely timed to moonrise/moonset and sky conditions), this three-hour night experience on the Salar de Uyuni pairs pristine stargazing with a guided creative photo session led by your Spanish-speaking driver-guide in a 4×4. When a thin film of water covers the flats (seasonal), the legendary mirror effect merges sky and salt into a limitless horizon, creating surreal star-filled reflections. Water boots are provided if needed; meals, insurance, and personal expenses are not included. Return to Uyuni is typically around midnight, with schedules flexed for weather and visibility to ensure the best possible night sky.

Detailed Itinerary

Tour Start – 8:30 PM (approx., subject to the moon)

The tour sets out at night from your Uyuni hotel toward the Salar de Uyuni. The exact departure time is fine-tuned to sky conditions—especially moonrise and moonset—to ensure optimal stargazing. If the moon sets early, we coordinate an earlier schedule to maximize time under a darker sky.

Photo Session Under the Stars

Upon reaching the salt flats, we begin a guided photo session to capture the night sky with the salar’s unique textures as a backdrop. Your guide will assist with framing and technique to achieve striking images that combine the celestial dome with the infinite horizon.

Mirror Effect (Seasonal)

If the flats are covered by a thin layer of water, you may witness the mirror effect at its finest: sky and salt surface merge, creating the sensation of floating among the stars. This phenomenon depends on season and weather.

Duration & Return

The experience lasts approximately 3 hours from departure to hotel drop-off. Timings may vary slightly due to the moon’s position and weather. Return to Uyuni is typically around midnight or later, depending on visibility and time dedicated to the photo shoot.
