Detailed itinerary
The Pachacamac Sanctuary half-day tour begins with hotel pickup between 09:00 and 09:15 in Miraflores or Larcomar. Our first stop is a panoramic visit to the Pucllana Pyramid, a 4th-century A.D. construction considered a sacred town during Inca times.
We then head to the Pachacamac Sanctuary, known in Quechua as the “Soul of the Earth.” This ceremonial center was visited by nobles and pilgrims who fasted for months before entering. Observation of the priests was forbidden, and entry was often performed backwards as a sign of respect. The site includes temples, courtyards, and ritual spaces where high priests carried out ceremonies, while common people conducted offerings in the courtyards. Pachacamac was once the most important oracle in the region, influencing religion and daily life.
Afterward, the tour continues to the bohemian district of Barranco, where we explore the iconic Bridge of Sighs. The journey continues through El Salto del Fraile and the Pantanos de Villa, where we enjoy panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean. We return to your hotel around early afternoon, concluding this cultural and scenic experience.
