Puno City Tour – Half Day
- 09:00 – Pick-up from your hotel in Puno.
- 09:15 – Visit Arco Deustua, monument honoring the heroes of Junín and Ayacucho.
- 09:40 – Explore Parque Pino and the nearby San Juan Church.
- 10:00 – Visit the Carlos Dreyer Museum with pre-Inca and Inca artifacts.
- 10:40 – Guided visit of Puno Cathedral, masterpiece of Andean Baroque.
- 12:00 – End of tour and return to your hotel.
Detailed itinerary
We offer comfortable transfers from your hotel, either in the morning or in the afternoon, to begin a Puno City Tour that showcases the main highlights of the “silver city.”
The tour starts at the Main Square (Plaza de Armas), home to the magnificent Catedral de Puno, a 17th-century Baroque masterpiece. We continue to the historic Casa del Conde de Lemos, linked to colonial stories of Puno’s past.
Next, we visit the Arco Deustua, a monument built in 1846 to honor Peruvians who fought in the battles of Junín and Ayacucho. From here, you can enjoy panoramic views of the city.
Our tour continues at Parque Pino, one of the busiest pedestrian squares, featuring a monument to Dr. Manuel Pino, hero of the War of the Pacific, and the nearby San Juan Church.
We then head to the Carlos Dreyer Museum, declared Cultural Heritage of the Nation, with exhibition halls dedicated to the Pukara, Tiwanaku, and Inca cultures, as well as a collection of colonial and republican art.
Finally, we return to the Catedral de Puno, finished in 1757 and elevated to the rank of minor basilica. Its façade, carved by Simón de Asto, reflects Spanish Baroque style enriched with Andean elements, making it a unique example of mestizo architecture. The tour ends around 12:00 p.m. with drop-off at your hotel.
