Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Cusco – Pisac – Ollantaytambo – Chinchero – Cusco

We begin by picking you up from your hotel in Cusco to start our journey through the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Our first stop will be Pisac, located 30 kilometers from Cusco. This archaeological complex is one of the most important and visited sites in the Sacred Valley, perched on the eastern slopes of the Vilcabamba mountain range. We will explore its terraces and temples, then visit the traditional market, where you can see colorful handicrafts and local products.

We continue along the valley, following the Vilcanota river until we reach Urubamba, where we’ll enjoy a buffet lunch with regional dishes. Afterward, we head to Ollantaytambo, about 90 kilometers northwest of Cusco. This town, founded by Pachacutec, was both a ceremonial center and later a stronghold for Manco Inca Yupanqui during the resistance against the Spanish. It is the only Inca town in Peru that is still continuously inhabited, preserving original streets and waterways.

On our way back to Cusco, we make a final stop in Chinchero, located at 3,754 meters above sea level and 28 kilometers from Cusco. Before reaching the Urubamba river and the heart of the Sacred Valley, we’ll explore this Andean village known for its colonial church, Inca walls, and its famous Sunday market. Originally a barter hub for local products, today it attracts visitors with its vibrant textiles and traditional dyeing techniques.
